in addition to my tuition and boarding fees, i still have a lot of expenses to think about before i go to college. my mom, who definitely outshadows me with her thinking-ahead-skills, has already begun purchasing supplies to furnish my dorming situation. there is, however, one thing on my to-buy list that i absolutely need, something i don't think i will be able to survive without, a bare essential. can you guess what it is? if you guessed an apple ipod - then you guessed right! (good for you!)
a whole library of music, a bank of my own .mp3 savings, a collection curated by yours truly, however you want to think about it, portable at my fingertips! no hyperbole even! i couldn't even begin to think to fill up those 15 gigs, i mean, fuck, i'm not that eclectic! but it would definitely be enough for the amount of albums i'm listening to right now. which is like five. but that number will increase, i know it, with an ipod in my possession. i'm sure of it!
imagine, walking through red square on a gloomy day, everyone morose on the winter blues, but with an ipod, i could tune out all of the bullshit walking from class to class, switching from the clash to bowie to my preferred wu-tang member of the day with ease!
and that's all i can think about right now. if i don't have the funds to buy one before school starts, i'm going to bring a random person to his-or-her (i'm for gender equality!) near-death experience unless they empty a good three benjamins into the unoccupied hand of mine that doesn't have a machette (or sawed-off shotgun!) to their throat.
so if you live in my part of town, i'd advise you to stay indoors for the next couple of things.
at least i haven't taken up crack yet.
